That all depends. If you’re happy with the basic coverage of the Bermuda Health Plan then you won’t need any more insurance. So far we’ve been told it will cover unlimited Dr’s visits, 2 Specialist visits (you’ll pay $50 per visit), ‘medically necessary’ overseas treatment – the administrator of the plan decides what’s ‘medically necessary’, basic dental and vision, personal home care, mental health care, local radiation, and $400 prescription drugs, per year. That sounds like a good plan. If you need more specialist visits, medication or treatment that’s not in the plan, you’ll pay out of pocket or buy insurance from a 2nd provider.
Will I need two insurance providers?
